Temperature check
Mixed water temperature measured at the outlet, and compared against the correct setting for that outlet.
Thermostatic mixing valves let you store water hot enough to kill Legionella and still deliver it safe enough not to scald. But scale and debris build up inside them, and a neglected valve can fail hot or fail lukewarm. We keep yours working.
If a valve fails hot, it can cause serious scalds, especially to children, older people and anyone with reduced mobility or sensation.
If it drifts too cool or the cold supply takes over, the water downstream sits at the temperature Legionella likes best, between 20°C and 45°C.
Regular servicing catches both problems before they reach a resident, pupil or patient.
Baths, showers and basins used by vulnerable residents.
TMV3 valves in line with HTM 04-01 and NHS D08 requirements.
Pupil washrooms where young children use the taps unsupervised.
Shared showers and baths, and homes for vulnerable tenants.
Each valve is tested, serviced and recorded, so you've got evidence for your logbook, your insurer and your inspector.

We isolate the cold supply to prove the valve shuts off safely instead of delivering scalding water.
Valve opened up, cartridge, strainers and check valves cleaned and descaled, then inspected for wear.
Worn cartridges, seals, strainers and check valves replaced. We'll always tell you before fitting anything major.
Valve reset to the right temperature for its use and retested, so it leaves working exactly as it should.
Every valve tagged and logged with its location, type, readings and next service date.
The right setting depends on the outlet and who uses it. These are the commonly used maximum settings for healthcare-style TMV3 valves.
| Outlet | Typical maximum mixed temperature |
|---|---|
| Bidet | 38°C |
| Shower | 41°C |
| Washbasin | 41°C |
| Bath (fill) | 44°C |
| Assisted bath (fill) | 46°C |
Your risk assessment or Water Safety Plan may set different values. We'll set valves to whatever your site requires.
For domestic-type settings: homes, HMOs, hotels and some schools. Approved to BS EN 1111 and BS EN 1287.
For healthcare and care settings, approved to NHS Model Engineering Specification D08 for higher performance and fail-safe requirements.
Under-basin valves serving a single tap, and larger valves supplying a bank of showers or washbasins.
It depends on the site and how the valves performed last time. Most sites service at least once a year. Healthcare and care settings often test more often, especially after installation or a failed test. We'll recommend an interval for each valve based on its results.
Usually well under an hour per valve, depending on access and condition. We'll plan the visit so bathrooms are out of use for as little time as possible.
Yes. We fit new valves where your risk assessment calls for scald protection, and replace valves that are beyond economic repair. See remedial works.
That's very common. On the first visit we'll find and tag every valve and build an asset register, so future servicing is quick and nothing gets missed.
Care homes, schools and dental surgeries each have their own Legionella risks. What's different about each and what inspectors tend to look for.
